Andre Ayew was in action for Swansea City but could not help them as they suffered a shocking exit in the first round of the Carabao Cup on Saturday.
The Swans were kicked out of the competition after being beaten 2-0 by League Two side Newport County.
A first-half brace from Tristan Abrahams in the seventh minute and on the stroke of half-time was enough for Newport needed to end Ayew and his colleagues’ stay in the competition.
Steve Cooper’s side will now shift their attention to the 2020/21 Championship opener against Preston North End on Saturday.
Ayew lasted the full duration of the game.
What remains unclear is whether the 30-year-old will stay at the club after the transfer window as he is currently being courted by Premier League newcomers Leeds United.
