Swansea City manager Steve Cooper says Ghana international Andre Ayew could be available for Saturday’s League game against struggling Derby County.
Ayew has been by far Swansea’s best player so far this season netting 16 goals in 42 Championship games.
The Swans have already booked their place in the play-offs ahead of the clash with relegation-threatened Derby County this weekend.
”He wasn’t 100%. If he was he would have started. In an ideal world we wouldn’t have used him at all. He’s had a little bit of a setback. He’s not completely out for Saturday. If he is, he’ll be back for Watford. It’s only a slight thing he’s managing,” said Cooper ahead of Saturday’s big game.
He added that ”I think we need to get the balance right. There’s still two games left to play. A lot of good came come out from that. A lot of players are in good form and we want to keep momentum going. There’s a few lads like Andre who we need to be careful with. Resting players, it’ll only be because they medically can’t play, not physically.”
