Black Stars captain Andre Ayew scored in Swansea City’s comfortable win at the Liberty Stadium on Friday evening against championship leaders Norwich City FC.
The 31-year-old grabbed the opening goal of the match to put the Jack Army’s in the driving seat on the 42nd minutes with an instinctive and a brilliant goal following a goal-mouth scramble after the visitors failed to deal with a corner kick properly.
The opening 45 minutes of the match was largely a dingdong affair but the determined home team went into the break with their noses in front.
Three minutes after the recess, Conor Hourihane scored the second goal of the match to make it 2-0 to the hosts with 42 minutes left to play in the second half.
After beating the league leaders, Norwich 2-0, the Swans closed the gap between the two teams to two points as they continue pushing for automatic promotion into the Premier League with a game in hand.
The Black Stars attacker has scored nine goals in 25 matches in the English Championship this campaign for the Black and Whites with two assists to his name.
