Ghana international Andre Ayew was on the scoresheet for the first time for Al Sadd in their pre-season friendly win over Spanish outfit, Figueres.
Al Sadd, who are currently camping in Spain came from two goals down to beat the Spanish side with a 5-3 score-line after full time as Ayew opened his scoring account.
The Black Stars skipper was named in the starting line-up by Xavi Hernandez, who ended the first 45 minutes with a two-goal deficit.
However, the former Ghana under-20 world cup winner got one back for Al Sadd immediately after the recess before Algerian forward Baghdad Bounedjah leveled things for the Qatari club in the 60th minute of the game. Santi Cazorla put the Wolves in front moments later.
Bounedjah grabbed his second goal of the game with 15 minutes still to go, as Mohammed Al-Manai came from the bench to score Al Sadd’s fifth but Figueres scored a late consolation as Xavi led his side to a first pre-season win.
Al Sadd will continue their camping in Spain until August 14 when they return to Qatar to wrap things up before the commencement of the new season.
