Skipper of the Ghana senior national team, Andre Ayew has expressed his gratitude to Ghanaians for their ‘support and prayers’ during the last international break.
Ayew was called up head coach Milovan Rajevac for his first two assignments upon his return to Ghana, but the player was only fit to start one of the two games while making a substitute appearance in the other.
The 31-year-old played and in the first game against Zimbabwe at the Cape Coast stadium, before playing the last four minutes of the reverse fixture away from home in Harare.
Ayew revealed he was made to start from the bench in the second game due to a knock he had picked up amid reports he benched based on his performance in the earlier game.
Reacting after the end of the international break, the Al Sadd forward stressed on the importance for the team to keep going while appreciating the reception from supporters.
