Swansea City AFC deputy captain, Andre Ayew scored a sumptuous goal in the first leg of the English Championship playoffs against Barnsley FC on Monday evening.
The Ghanaian international, who scored 16 goals in 43 games with four assists in regular season showed his mettle again for the Jack Army’s.
Six minutes to the end of the first half, Ayew went through on goal at the right side of attack after receiving a pass from Kyle Naughton and went past two defenders before unleashing a superlative strike into the bottom left corner to put the visitors 1-0 up.
The 31-year-old has now scored 17 goals in total in the championship for the Welsh side who missed out promotion last season after suffering a semi-final elimination in the hands of Brentford.
The Ghana skipper’s goal was enough to win the game 1-0 for the White and Blacks.
The Swans are halfway through the tie after securing a vital win on the road and would have to avoid defeat at home on Saturday to book their tickets to the final in Wembley a week later.
