Legon Cities, outraged by the poor performance of referee Eso Doh Morrison and his assistant in their defeat against Bibiani Gold Stars, are expected to file a complaint with the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
The match, played on Monday afternoon at Dun’s Park, saw Gold Stars emerge victorious with a 3-2 win in their betPawa Premier League fixture, marred by controversial refereeing decisions.
During the game, Legon Cities were denied a legitimate goal by Alex Asso due to the referee’s whistle for a foul, which prompted the away team players to briefly walk off the pitch in protest. However, following intervention by coach Konadu, the players returned to the pitch in the 80th minute to resume the match.
A reliable source from Legon Cities informed Sportsworldghana.com that the club has resolved to report the poor display of Eso Doh Morrison and his assistants to the Ghana Football Association.
The defeat leaves Legon Cities in the 16th position, with 28 points and three points away from the relegation zone.
Meanwhile, Ghana Football Association’s match review panel in the 2021-22 season punished referee Eso Doh Morrison with eight-match ban following his poor decision to award ‘fake’ penalty for Aduana Stars against Hearts of Oak at the at the Accra Sports Stadium.
