FC Samartex are set to name Annor Walker as their new head coach ahead of their debut season in the Ghana Premier League.
Finishing as the Division One League’s Zone Two champions for the 2021–2022 season, Samartex qualified for the Premier League.
Henry Wellington, a former Hearts of Oak coach who guided the team to the top division, will no longer serve as the club’s head coach as Walker is anticipated to be named the new hire.
Prior to the commencement of the 2020–21 league season, Walker was appointed manager of the Accra–based Great Olympics. He led the team to a sixth-place finish that year.
In the just concluded season, when the Dade Boys finished fifth overall and 19 points behind league champion Asante Kotoko, he improved upon that mark.
Samartex will aim to finish above the relegation zone in their first Premier League season with the impending hiring of the Black Galaxies’ head coach.
