Antoine Semenyo has been officially added to Manchester City’s updated UEFA Champions League squad, making him eligible to feature in the competition’s Round of 16.
The Ghanaian forward, who joined the English champions during the January transfer window, has been registered after UEFA opened a brief period for clubs to make limited changes to their squads following the league phase of the tournament.
Under the competition’s rules, teams were allowed to introduce up to three new players, and City used the opportunity to include Semenyo, strengthening their attacking options for the knockout stage.
The update means the former Bournemouth man is now cleared to represent Pep Guardiola’s side on Europe’s biggest club stage, marking a significant milestone in his career and underlining the club’s confidence in his abilities.
As part of the squad reshuffle, some players exited the Champions League list after completing moves away from the club, creating space for the new additions.
Manchester City’s revised List A now includes Semenyo among an array of world-class talents, with the club maintaining a balanced squad across goalkeeping, defence, midfield and attack as they chase further European success.
The inclusion of Antoine Semenyo not only boosts City’s depth going into the decisive phase of the competition but also places the Ghanaian forward firmly in the spotlight ahead of the crucial knockout matches.
