GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi has revealed that newly appointed Black Stars coach, Kwesi Appiah will be tasked to end the nation’s 35-year title drought.
Appiah will be making a second attempt at the national team job, having coached the Black Stars from 2012 to 2014.
His first game will be against Ethiopia in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Kumasi on June 9.
“We want the Black Stars to win trophies, so ultimately we the Executive Committee and whoever will be given the mantle – as with Kwesi Appiah – is to ensure that we win trophies.
“That is the Africa Cup, the World Cup and so on,” Nyantakyi said after Appiah was confirmed as the new Ghana coach.
“It is not far from being achieved. It is there are any impediments or challenges, we will discuss them and see how we can surmount them.” Nynatakyi told reporters
