Banker and astute Kotoko fan, Kojo Addae says the appointment of the Portuguese gaffer was a big mistake.
Kojo Addae believes the appointing Authority made a huge error by recruiting the ex-Black Stars coach to handle the technical affairs of the Porcupine Warriors. In an interview monitored on Ash FM, the banker did not mince words on the appointment of the coach.
“I think we got it wrong when we appointed Barreto I think in my personal view I have not seen any foreign coach winning the local league for kotoko”
The 64-year old was appointed in March to replace Abdulai Gazelle and Johnson Smith.
Mariano Barreto also joined the Kumasi giants with another Portuguese Bruno Miguel as an Assistant Coach.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko lost the Ghana Premier League tittle to bitter rivals Accra Hearts of Oak but are still in the race to win the FA Cup as they play Berekum Chelsea this weekend at Obuasi.
