Arsenal FC manager Mikkel Arteta is facing a tough situation with regards with the Thomas Partey in his selection for weekend clash against Crystal Palace FC tonight.
The Gunners coach is in dilemma as to whether select the recently injury prone midfielder for today’s game after spending two weeks with Ghana during the international break.
Partey is available for selection for the game against Arsenal legend, Patrick Vieira’s team but his recent injury concerns leaves a burden on Arteta to make a decision about the midfielder.
Despite his availability, Arteta faces a tough Thomas Partey decision, with the midfielder having a busy international break with Ghana which could put pressure on his injury should he start in the high intensity game against a string Palace team.
The former Atletico Madrid midfielder scored in both of his Ghana’s games during the two weeks with the Black Stars team and given his injury record with Arsenal, it could be a wise decision to rest him on Monday.
Arteta, when speaking about Partey’s fitness, admitted he still has a decision to make in regards to starting the Ghana international against Palace at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners boss said: “Well, let’s see. We have not had the players here yet some of them because they are still travelling. He played well and scored a couple of goals.”
