Mamelodi Sundowns has flexed their muscles once again in the Transfer Window after paying a whopping €3.2 million for the signature of Arthur Sales from Belgian club Lommel SK.

Arthur de Oleveira Sales, 22, has signed a 4-year deal with the Brazillians.

Born in Sao Gabriel da Palha in Brazil, Arthur Sales spent 5 years in the famous Vasco da Gama Academy ( 2016-2021) before been promoted to the senior side.

He joined Lommel S.K in the Challenger Pro League, the second tier of Belgian top flight. He had a loan spell in Portugal with Pacos Ferreira in the 2022-2023 season where he failed to dazzle.

In the 2023-24 season, Oliveira Sales was loaned to Bahia where he made 9 appearances and scored only one goal.

In all, he made 38 appearances and scored 17 goals for Lommel SK since joining in 2021.

The youngster has finally moved to Mamelodi Sundowns in a long term deal equaling the previous record for the most expensive transfer in the history of the South African DSTV Premier League where Percy Tau secured a move from Sundowns to Brighton & Hove Albion in England in the 2018-19 season.

The most expensive signing into the DSTV Premier League was Chilean’s Marcelo Allende when he moved from Montevideo City Torquey in a deal worth €2.9 million.

Mamelodi Sundowns now have a very powerful attack with Sales joining Shalulile, Lucas Costa, Zwane, Tashreeq, Lorch, Sirino among many other talented attackers.
