Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC beat West African Football Academy (WAFA) SC in their week 10 Ghana Premier League encounter at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The home team were the better side in the opening exchanges of the match but failed to cause the Academy Boys problems at the back.
Kotoko were awarded a penalty kick after the WAFA goalkeeper was adjudged to have fouled the Kotoko attacker but the decision was rescinded after consulting the assistant referee.
After the break, Kotoko begun to pile pressure on the the visitors and was more purposeful going into the opposition box.
Finally, the pressure paid off when Richmond Lamptey scored beautifully to give the Red and Whites outfit a deserving 1-0 lead.
Kotoko then had a lot of chances but failed to score again as it ended 1-0 to the por who move to 20 points from nine games.
