Asante Kotoko are closing in on the signing of FC Samartex’s highly-rated midfielder, Lord Hilary Adabo, ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
The two clubs have agreed on a transfer fee of GH¢200,000, with only personal terms left to be finalised between the player and the Kumasi-based side. Sources indicate that the deal could be wrapped up by Thursday.
Once negotiations are completed, Adabo is expected to sign a long-term contract with Kotoko as part of their ongoing efforts to rebuild a competitive squad for the upcoming campaign.
The energetic midfielder earned plaudits last season for his solid performances, particularly his strength, ability to win back possession, and calm presence in midfield under pressure. His consistency made him one of Samartex’s standout players and drew interest from several top-flight clubs.
However, Kotoko have acted swiftly to land his signature, underlining their ambition to reclaim their place among Ghana’s football elite. The potential signing of Adabo represents another important move in the club’s strategy to reinforce key positions ahead of the new season.
