Young Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC striker, Francis Andy Kumi has received special praises from head coach Mariano Barreto following a fast start to his Asante Kotoko career.
The Portuguese gaffer was full of praise and admiration of the former striker of Unistar Academy FC after he dazzled on his first start for the Red and Whites against Bechem United FC last Wednesday in Obuasi.
Barretto in other words described the 21-year-old Center-forward as a special talent who deserved his goal against Bechem United due to his hard work.
“All the time he was on the field, he made me feel happy and he created a good expectation regarding his career. It’s good for him to score on his first start. He deserves it because he worked for it,” he said in a prematch interview.
Andy Kumi was purchased as a direct replacement for departed Kwame Opoku who has joined USM Alger in Algeria and the young lad is in line to start in Kotoko Sunday’s clash against Berekum Chelsea.
