Kumasi Asante Kotoko recorded their first away win of the premier league season beating Wa All Stars 2-0 at the Malik Jabir stadium on Sunday.
Goal from captain Amos Frimpong and striker Frederick Boateng were enough to hand Paa Kwesi Fabin his first victory on the road – and it could not have come at a better time than this.
Kotoko face biggest rivals Hearts of Oak next in Kumasi on Week 10 and fans of the club are expecting Fabin and his boys to repeat the Wa performance against the Phobians.
Frimpong opened the coring at stroke of half time and former Inter Allies Boateng took the opportunity to scored his third goal in a Kotoko shirt after scoring against Dwarfs and Berekum Chelsea.
Fabin dropped Jackson Owusu from his starting line-up and confided in Kotoko youth product Douglas Owusu playing the youngster alongside Prince Acquah – one of the best performers of the team in the last few games and this proved to have done the magic as the team played with aggression and full concentration.
Winning away is good but winning without conceding is very good. What is left to be seen is how consistent the Porcupine Warriors can produce top performances like this.
All Stars have thus been beaten twice in front of their home fans this season as Karela United also won there.
