Asante Kotoko SC midfielder Micheal Yeboah has denied rife reports in local media claiming he was sacked from training by head coach Charles Kwablan Akunnor.
The budding midfielder was reported to have been sacked by head coach CK Akunnor for reporting late to the training grounds but the player tells Kumasi based Ash FM that nothing of that sort happened to him..
According to him, he was sick and asked for permission from management to be left out of training hence the ‘untrue’ reports that he was sacked from the team’s training grounds.
“It is never true that I was sacked from the training grounds on Monday by coach CK Akunnor as it is been speculated”, Yeboah said.
He added, “I was sick on that day so I got to the training grounds late and I told coach Akapo Patron and he told me to sit aside whiles other players were training so when those around saw that I was sitting whiles the players were training that’s why they taught I was sacked by the coach”.
Asante Kotoko SC appointed former Ashanti Gold SC trainer CK Akunnor as their new coach on a 3-year contract after the exit of Paa Kwesi Fabin.
He has however been tasked by management of the club to win the Ghana Premier League a title in the African Club Competition within the shortest possible time.
