The Ashantigold Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel Frimpong on Wednesday revealed the out of contract Shafiu Mumuni is not being considered for next season according to head coach Roberto Landi.
The Italian coach has reportedly distanced himself from the statement made by the CEO setting the records straight that he has not even started player assessment for the next the football season as Ashantigold prepares for the CAF Confederation Cup.
Meanwhile Frimpong was quick to add that the Miners have already made a cheque available for the 2019 WAFU tournament golden boot winner.
“We have made a cheque available for Shafiu to pick but he has it been here. We are waiting for him to pick it and extend the contract but as it stands now he is no more our player” Frimpong told Kumasi based Fox FM.
Shafiu’ inclusion definitely boost the attack of the Obuasi based side for Africa especially but the club of Dr. Kwaku Frimpong is currently sweating over an extension or equally good replacement for the prolific goalscorer.
