Kumasi-based Division One League side Asokwa Deportivo SC defeated Wamanafo mighty Royals by a 2-1 score line in a pre-season friendly on Thursday afternoon.
The Namoro Boys dominated they entire first half of the match with some jaw breaking football on display against their opponent from Zone one.
Midfield maestro, Seth Kwadwo set up speedster, George Darko on the 14th minute to score the opening goal of the match to put Deportivo in the lead within the first quarter of the match.
After the the Zone Two team, Asokwa Deportivo’s first goal, chances kept coming their way but failed to capitalize on their chances.
Seven minutes to the end of the first half, striker, Asamoah Boateng had a glorious opportunity to put Deportivo in a two goals lead before the half time but missed his chance from close range as the first half ended 1-0.
After the break, Wamanafo mighty Royals upped their game and put up a good combination play for about fifteen minutes in the second half but could not convert their possession into chances.
Deportivo SC, after fifteen minutes into the second half came back into the game and controlled the matche until after 28 minutes when they effected five substitutions but the substitute could not somehow make a meaningful impact on the match and allowed the visitors to take control of the match.
Seven minutes to full time, George Darko broke free on the wings as he burst into the opposing goal area but was stupidly brought down in the 18-yard which resulted into penalty which was expertly converted by Ishaku Konda to make it 2-0 to Asokwa Deportivo SC.
Three minutes from full time, Deportivo gifted a ball to the opponents just inside the box and was severely punished by the striker who reduced the deficit to one for the Zone One side as they game ended 2-1 to Asokwa Deportivo SC.
