President of Ghana Division One League side Asokwa Deportivo SC, Mr. Abdulai Amidu has been named in the U-17 Interclub Champions League competition’s Local Organizing Committee for the newly established U-17 Inter Club Champions League and Inter-Regional Challenge Cup.
The experienced football administrator is among the nine-member Committee that have been tasked to ensure effective organization of the competitions which will take place across the country in September and October 2021.
Among their responsibilities will be to raise the needed funds to manage the competition, suggest format/competition rules to the Executive Council for approval and the general planning and management of the two juvenile tournaments. The new competition is to unearth talents at the juvenile level.
Amidu has been a pivot in Ashanti Region in terms of Colts football organization and his overwhelming desire to see football development reach it highest peak has earned him a position in a committee set up by Ghana’s FA to help develop juvenile football in the country.
The owner of Asokwa Royals, the Juvenile team of Asokwa Deportivo, Amidu has contributed greatly to the development and success of juvenile football for the past three decades and his experience and knowledge about the game is worth his inclusion in the committee to help revive juvenile football in the country.
