Ghana international winger Christian Atsu has remained optimistic about Ghana’s World Cup chances despite their dismal start to the qualifying campaign.
The Newcastle winger played the entire 90 minutes as the Black Stars suffered a 2-0 defeat against Egypt in the second round of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers on Sunday.
Atsu said addressing the press after the game “Regarding our qualification chances, there are still two matches after the qualifiers and points to grab,”
“We played well today but unfortunately we couldn’t win,” he added.
Ghana will host 4th placed Congo on August 28 in the third round of the qualifiers, before travelling to Congo to face them a week later.
