Former head coach of Ghana Premier League side Young Apostles FC, William Afoakwa, has issued a strong warning to fellow coaches, urging them to stay away from the club due to what he describes as poor leadership and lack of professionalism from the club’s owner, Mr. Isaac Domfeh.
In a passionate outburst following his departure from the club, Affoakwa accused the Young Apostles owner of failing to treat the technical team and players with respect, citing a specific incident that, for him, epitomizes the issues plaguing the club.
“I will advise all coaches not to go to Young Apostles because the team owner, Mr. Domfeh, is not an honorable man to be a team owner,” Affoakwa said. “There is nothing good at Young Apostles.”
He recounted a moment of frustration after a league match against Premier League side Karela United, where he says the team was poorly compensated for their efforts.
“After our game against Karela, Mr. Domfeh gave the players GHC 50 each as chop money, including me, the head coach, and my three assistants,” he revealed. “Of course, I refused to take the money because that is not my value.”
Affoakwa’s remarks have sent shockwaves through the local football community, particularly among coaches and aspiring staff members who may have been considering opportunities with the club.
