Captain Elizabeth Addo scored a 44th minute spot kick as Ghana drew 1-1 with bitterest rivals Nigeria in the ongoing African Women’s AFCON in Cameroon at the Stade Limbe stadium.
Arsenal FC forward Asistat Oshoala shot the Nigerians in front on the 22nd minute before the Black Queens levelled things up through a spot in just a minute away from the half time.
Nigeria nearly punished the Black Queens with a second goal few minutes to the end of the entire duration, thanks to goalkeeper Nana Asantewaa who excellently rescued her side from conceding their second on the day.
The Queens beat Kenya 3-1 in their opening game before one apiece with Niger on Wednesday afternoon.
The draw means that Ghana will share same points with Niger who also beat Mali 6-0 in their group opener.
