Manchester United defender Ayden Heaven has decided not to change his international allegiance from England to Ghana ahead of next summer’s 2026 FIFA World Cup, the BBC reports.
The 19-year-old Manchester United defender, who was born in London and qualifies to play for Ghana through a grandparent, has been on the radar of the Ghana Football Association, which has been closely monitoring his progress.
However, sources indicate that the young defender has made it clear he wants to represent England at senior level. Heaven joined Manchester United from Arsenal in February after making a single appearance for the Gunners.
His decision means Ghana will not be able to count on his services for future international competitions, as he focuses on pursuing his international career with England.
Ghana have been drawn in the same group as England, Croatia and Panama for the World Cup in the US, Canada and Mexico.
