Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah will have to wait for some more time on Baba Rahman as the Schalke 04 defender Abdul Baba Rahman says he is not yet ready to make a return to the senior national football team, Black Stars, any time soon.
The 23-year-old recently recovered from a knee injury sustained in January 2017 while on national duty with Ghana at the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
Baba Rahman made his long-awaited return to competitive action after playing 33 minutes of Schalke 04’s win over Eintratct Frankfurt on the last day of the 2017/18 Germany Bundisliga season.
The former FC Augsburg defender said he is not in a rush to get back into the Ghana colours at the moment because it is important to get some playing time at club level before considering a return.
“At this moment I will say no because I need to have some game time at club level before I join”
Rahman made his senior debut for Ghana against Togo in the African Cup of Nations qualification at the Stade de Kegue on September 2014 and has been capped 24 times.
