Head coach of Heart of Lions, Bashir Hayford, has expressed deep satisfaction with his team’s performance throughout the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
Under the guidance of the seasoned manager, the Kpando-based side has enjoyed a remarkable turnaround, emerging as one of the most competitive teams in the league this year.
With consistent displays both at home and on the road, Heart of Lions have held their own against some of the top clubs in the division. With just one game remaining, the club currently sits fourth on the league table with 57 points, only three points behind league leaders Nations FC.
Looking ahead to their crucial final fixture of the season—an away match against Nations FC—Coach Hayford shared his pride in how far his team has come.
“I’m very, very satisfied,” he said during a pre-match interview. “We set a target for ourselves not to struggle like we did last season. I believe everyone can see that we’ve achieved that. Unlike last season when we were fighting relegation, this time we’ve been in the mix at the top.”
The decisive match between Nations FC and Heart of Lions will take place on Sunday, June 8, with kickoff scheduled for 3:00 PM at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.
