Bayern Munich Manger Hans-Dieter Flick says he is ready to consider a move to sign Ghana defender Joseph Aidoo from La Liga club Celta Vigo provided the former Inter Allies star has the ‘appropriate aptitudes and qualities’.
Aidoo in his recent interview with Joy Sports revealed that he had a childhood ambition of playing for the Germain giants in future as he wants to follows the steps of his senior and mentor, Samuel Osei Kuffour.
The 25-year-old attributed his admiration for Bayern Munich to his mentor who spent twelve seasons at Allianz Arena outfit, winning six Bundesliga titles and the UEFA Champions League trophy in 2000/01 season.
“I chose Sammy Kuffour as my mentor because for me, I think I will be playing for Bayern Munich in future and he has been there, and that is why I am always looking up to him and he has made a good impact on the football world. When I was a kid, Bayern was the club that touched my heart and that is why I admire them,” said Aidoo.
The former Ghana U20 defender’s come-get-me plea has caught the attention of Hansi Flick who says he would offer Aidoo an opportunity at Bayern Munich.
He made the disclosure during a press conference ahead of Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League quarter-finals fixture against PSG.
“There are a lot of players who would like to play at FC Bayern. If he [Joseph Aidoo] has the appropriate disposition and quality, then I think he will be dealt with.” Hansi Flick said.
Aidoo has played twenty-two games for Spanish La Liga side Celta Vigo in the ongoing season so far.
The hard-tackler joined the Spanish club on a five-year deal from Belgian top-flight league giants KRC Genk during the 2019 summer transfer window.
He has capped eight times for the Black Stars of Ghana. He represented Ghana at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
