Former Chairman of the Ghana Athletics Association George Haldane Lutterodt says successive sports ministers failed because of the Black Stars.
His comments comes in the wake of government’s pledge to cushion the black stars with 25 million dollars for them to win next year’s AFCON and also get a semi final berth at the world cup in Qatar.
Speaking to Starr Sports the former GAA boss insists it seems past and present sports ministers have not learnt huge lessons from getting themselves so much involved in black stars related issues at the ministry which has caused their downfall over the years.
“Even other African countries just don’t rely on the national football teams alone for glory” he said.
“Nigeria, Egypt, South Africa, Kenya, and several countries in the world you see them developing other sports but that it not the case in Ghana.
“But Ghana is I will not even say football but it’s just one thing black Stars and you see minister have come and gone and all had issues related to black stars “ he added.
