Board member of Asante Kotoko, Mr. Kwadwo Boateng Gyemfi has charged the Ghanaian media to be accurate, factual and truthful in their reportage on the club’s issues.

According to the successful Businessman, most of the stories published by the media are just speculation and calculated attempts by some media houses to dent the images of the great club.

Several reports in the local media have claimed that the current Board of Directors led by business mogul Dr. Kwame Kyei have a very bad relationship with the Nana Yaw Amponsah led management team.

The reports suggested that the top hierarchy of the club has not been providing the necessary support because the club’s CEO, Nana Yaw Amponsah is ‘disrespectful’.

However, Mr. Kwadwo Boateng Gemfi, has rejected those reports, describing them as being false.

“Kotoko is a big team and there is no denying fact that the spirit behind the team is great. Otumfour handed the team to us, we have not slept over it as reported, ” he told Hello FM.

“If I’m to tell you the amount of money the board members have given to support the club you’ll not believe it.

“We’re doing our best. We will complete all projects we have promised to put up before our time comes to an end.

“We will call on the media fraternity to support us. The speculations on the part of the media are too much. Some create stories that don’t exist and that’s worrying. We don’t know how you get that information. Some of them are untrue.

“Give us the peace of mind to work. Because we’re doing the work for Asanteman and everyone.

“It’s the media and the supporters who can assist us to be successful but always we hear about stories that are lies. Some even say the board of directors are fighting. They are all false and honestly, I don’t know where it’s coming from, ” he concluded.
