Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has reportedly received a significant salary increase following his recent debut for the Black Stars and subsequent contract renewal with the club.
According to exclusive information obtained by Gariba Raubil of YEN.com.gh, Asare’s new deal includes a substantial financial upgrade, with his monthly salary jumping from GHC 3,000 to a figure believed to be in the region of GHC 10,000.
Though the exact amount remains undisclosed, sources close to the negotiations confirmed that Asare is now earning a salary comparable to other top-tier players in the Ghana Premier League.
“I cannot mention the exact figure he is earning now—it is not nice to do that,” the source explained. “But what I can say is that surely he is taking standard pay as many top players like Asare in the GPL earn, in the region of 10,000 to 12,000 thereabout. Many big players in the league are being paid these figures.”
The pay rise is a reward for Asare’s rise in stature, having established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the local league and recently earning a call-up to the senior national team. His debut appearance for the Black Stars has only added to his profile and value.
Asare’s improved contract underlines Hearts of Oak’s commitment to retaining their top talents as they aim to rebuild and compete strongly in both the league and domestic cup competitions.
