Leading sports betting company, Betway will on Saturday engage thousands of up and coming footballers at the PRESEC Legon Park in Accra for the final tryouts of the Betway talent search event.
The talent hunt initiative which is aimed at discovering the next generation of football stars in the country has so far seen the search team engaging young and budding soccer talents in Tarkoradi, Koforidua and Kumasi.
The Betway Talent Search has former Black Stars captain and the Technical Coordinator for the national football team, Stephen Appiah, as its icon.
Other members of the scouting team include Maxwell Konadu, Eric Antwi Ofori, Coach Eben, Ben Adjei, Twumasi Forkuoh, Prince Odei and Godfried Aduobe.
Speaking ahead of the final tryout session in Accra, Marketing Manager for Betway Ghana, Kwabena Oppong Nkrumah has described it as a very successful event so far insisting that it has giving them the chance to recognize great football talents in the country”
“If you look at the turn we had in Takoradi, Koforidua and Kumasi it’s been amazing and everywhere we go we have seen young people between 18 and 25 ready to show their God giving talents and even in Kumasi Stephen Appiah got emotion because of what he was seeing on the pitch so it’s a big deal for us” he added.
The Betway Talent search, aside offering footballers the opportunity to showcase their skills to the coaching team, the Talent Search also offers players the opportunity to go through career orientation and training when it comes to the signing of contracts.
They will also get the opportunity to play before a number of football agents and scouts.
