Birmingham City have strengthened their squad by bringing in 21-year-old Ghanaian winger Ibrahim Osman on loan from Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion for the remainder of the season.
Osman spent the first half of this campaign on loan at French Ligue 1 club Auxerre, where he made 14 appearances, gaining valuable top-flight experience. He joins Birmingham as their third signing of the January transfer window, following the arrivals of Kai Wagner and Jhon Solis.
The winger began his career in Ghana before moving to Danish club Nordsjaelland in 2023. During the 2023-24 season, Osman made a breakthrough with 10 goals and nine assists in 44 appearances, performances that earned him a £16 million transfer to Brighton in the summer of 2024.
Following his move to the Premier League, Osman was loaned to Feyenoord for the 2024-25 season, where he featured in 22 Eredivisie matches, contributing to six goal involvements, and appeared seven times in the Champions League.
Birmingham City currently sit 14th in the Championship table with 35 points and will be hoping Osman’s pace and creativity can help push them higher in the standings.
