Head coach of the Black Queens, Kim Lars Björkegren, has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to overcome Senegal in their upcoming international friendly on Saturday, April 5.
Speaking in a pre-match interview with the Ghana Football Association’s media team, the Swedish tactician acknowledged the strength of the Teranga Lionesses but believes his side has what it takes to come out on top.
“The game against Senegal tomorrow. I think it’s going to be a tough one. They play physically. It’s going to be a good game for us. We need to move the ball fast, but if we do that, I’m sure we have the potential to win the game,” he said.
The friendly match is part of the Black Queens’ preparations for the 2025 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), which will be hosted in Morocco later this year.
Following Saturday’s match, Ghana will once again face Senegal in a second encounter scheduled for Tuesday, April 8, as Coach Björkegren continues to fine-tune his squad for the continental tournament.
