Black Starlets succumbed to 0-1 defeat at the team’s training center at Prampram to Division One League team Asokwa Deportivo SC.
The Ghana U-17 team invited the Kumasi-based club for a friendly match on Wednesday morning as part of their intensive training and presentations ahead of the WAFU Zone B tournament.
The first half of the match was a ding dong affair as both team’s exhibited some quality of football to wow the officials and few fans who were present to witness the frenetic encounter.
After a goalless first 45 minutes of the match, midfield-gem of Deportivo, Seth Kwadwo who was a member of the 2019 Ghana U-23 team squad and who also just missed out on the U-20 squad for the ongoing WAFU scored on the 57th minute of the match to put the away team 1-0 up early in the second half.
After the goal, the Division One side dominated the preceding and did not allow the national U-17 to have any comfort on the ball as they controlled the tempo of the match.
It ended 1-0 to the Asokwa team who traveled all the way from Kumasi on Tuesday evening to beat the Black Starlets 1-0 in Prampram on Wednesday morning through a solitary strike by their midfield anchor Seth Kwadwo.
