Ghana’s 17 team Black Starlets have received $4,000 each for finishing second at the Africa U17 Championship in Gabon.
Paa Kwesi Fabian’s side won sliver at the competition in Gabon after losing 0-1 to Mali in the finals. The team was promised $5,000 by the government should they clinch the title.
Each player will now receive $4,000 as part of promise made by the Sports ministry for placing second.
The Black Starlets were hoping to make history by winning the Africa Junior Championship for the third time having won the competition in 1995 and 1999.
Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin and charges will now shift their attention to the FIFA World Cup which will be staged in India October this year.
