Ghana’s Black Stars head coach Charles Kwhablah Akonnor says that his aim is to get the team to play well and beat Mali when the two countries face off in a friendly next month.
Akonnor next month will play his first game in charge of the Black Stars following his appointment as the head coach of the team in January this year.
Speaking to the media team of the Ghana FA after naming his squad for the Mali friendly, Coach Akonnor says it will be a strong test for his team.
“Mali is a strong side, we have seen a couple of matches that they played in the AFCON, a very strong force and it is a very good test for us”, the coach said as quoted on the website of the GFA.
He further indicates that the target is for the Ghana team is to do well and beat the opponent.
“We want to go there and try as much as possible to do our best and of course win that match”, the former Hearts of Oak coach added.
The friendly against Mali has been scheduled to be played in the City of Antalya on October 9.
