Black Stars head coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor believes his charges must come out good against neighbors Ivory Coast in an international friendly in Cape Coast on Saturday evening.
The gaffer who was satisfied with his team’s performance despite the defeat to Morocco is expecting his team to to beat the 2015 AFCON winners with a convincing performance.
Akonnor said after the game; “I am expecting a win from my boys on Saturday when we take on Ivory Coast at the Cape Coast stadium”.
According to him, he expects his boys to play beautiful football and match it with a good scoreline after losing to the Atlas Lions of Morocco on Tuesday evening in Rabat.
“I’m not only expecting a win over our neighbors, Ivory Coast but I also want to see the team perform at the very highest level they possibly can come Saturday”, Akonnor told the media.
Ghana lost 1-0 to Morocco but for the first time since Akonnor took over, there has been no single backlash from both fans and the media after his team’s performance wowed many Ghanaians against a starsided North African team.
Ghana’s game against Ivory Coast is scheduled to kick off at 5pm on Saturday in Cape Coast.
