Maritzburg United chairman, Farook Kadodia confirmed that the club has accepted an offer from Orlando Pirates for the Ghanaian goalkeeper pending agreement between the player and Pirates.
Ofori has been a long term target for the Black and Whites in of one of the longest-running transfer sagas of 2020, which began even before the 2019/20 season was interrupted by lockdown, is now finally set to reach its conclusion after the president of Maritzburg confirmed the deal.
“I can now confirm that we’ve allowed Orlando Pirates to begin talks with Richard Ofori,” Kadodia told the media on Tuesday. “Once the deal is concluded they will make an announcement.”
There was also talk of Tebogo Tlolane being part of Ofori’s move but Kadodia says the midfielder will return on loan in two days’ time and is not part of the deal.
