Ghana’s hope of capturing youngster Kelvin Yeboah could not materialise as the promising attacker has been called up to the Italian U21 team for the upcoming U21 Euro Championship.

Yeboah, 21, who plays for Austrian Bundesliga side Sturm Graz was recently handed his debut Ghana senior national team call-up for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers double-header against Ethiopia and South Africa.
However, he has surprisingly been named in Coach Paolo Nicolato’s squad for their U21 European Championship qualification games against Luxembourg and Montenegro, on 3 September at Stadio Carlo Castellani in Empoli and on 7 September at Stadio Romeo Menti in Vicenza.
This would be the third an Eurooean-born player has rejected an invite to play for the Black Stars after defender Stephan Kofi Ambrosius and winger Jamie Leweling turned down invitations to represent the West African powerhouse.
Yeboah who is Leeds United Cult here Tony Yeboah’s Nephew, has scored six goals in 7 game outings for Sturm Graz in the ongoing Austrian Bundesliga season.
