The Black Stars have been handed a tough task as they were drawn against Niger, Angola, and Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers Group F.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) held a draw in Johannesburg on Thursday, revealing the groups for next year’s edition of the continent’s flagship competition.
Ghana will be competing against Niger, Angola, and Sudan in Group H, with the top two teams set to qualify for AFCON 2025 in Morocco.
The qualifying matches are set to begin in June, and the Black Stars will be looking to make amends for their disappointing performances in recent years. Ghana has not won the AFCON title since 1982, and their last appearance was a quarterfinal exit at the 2019 edition.
Ghana’s group stage opponents will provide a stern test for the team, with Niger and Angola both possessing talented squads. Sudan, meanwhile, will be looking to make their mark on the international stage.
The Black Stars will need to be at their best if they are to qualify for AFCON 2025 and make a deep run in the competition.
The team’s campaign is set to begin in June, and coach Otto Addo will be hoping that his side can come out strong from the start.
