President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, has expressed strong belief in the Ghana national football team, assuring that the team will make the nation proud at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars are set to compete at the global showpiece, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Ghana has been drawn into Group L, where they will face Panama national football team, England national football team, and Croatia national football team.
Despite recent disappointments, including group-stage exits at the 2014 tournament in Brazil and the 2022 edition in Qatar, Okraku remains optimistic about the team’s chances this time around. Speaking at the launch of the Black Stars Fundraising Campaign at the Kempinski Hotel on March 20, he highlighted the work done behind the scenes as a reason for confidence.
“Today, we are very confident that the intangible assets that we have produced over time, the intangible assets that have been put together by coach Otto Addo and his team, we will make Ghana proud,” he stated.
“We will go into this tournament with our chest up, ready to fight for the strip and ready to change our story. We fear no foe and believe me, Ghana football will speak,” he added.
Ghana will begin their campaign against Panama on June 17, before facing England on June 23. They will wrap up their group stage matches against Croatia on June 27.
With renewed belief and structured preparation, the Black Stars will be aiming to turn past setbacks into motivation and deliver a performance that resonates with fans across the country and beyond.
