Kurt Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association, has expressed strong confidence that the Black Stars will make a significant impact at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and help reshape Ghana’s football narrative.
Speaking at a fundraising event attended by President John Dramani Mahama, Okraku highlighted the team’s preparation and belief within the camp as key factors heading into the tournament. The event was also graced by Sports Minister Kofi Adams and Deputy Finance Minister Thomas Nyarko Ampem.
Prominent musicians Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy also contributed to the cause, pledging significant financial support toward the World Cup Fund, which aims to facilitate fan travel to the tournament in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Okraku praised the technical team led by coach Otto Addo, expressing optimism that the squad’s collective effort and preparation will translate into strong performances on the global stage.
“We are very confident that the work done over time and the group put together by the coach will make Ghana proud,” he said.
He added that the team will approach the tournament with determination and belief, insisting Ghana will not be intimidated by any opponent.
“We will go into this tournament with confidence, ready to fight and change our story. We fear no opponent, and Ghana football will speak,” he stated.
Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama as they prepare for their World Cup campaign.
