The CAF Champions League playoffs second leg clash between Sudanese team Al Hilal Omdurman and Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC have officially been called off.
This comes as a result of Kotoko’s inability to field the team sheet with the required players after they were hit by coronavirus.
The Ghanaian giants officially confirmed that seven key players and four officials of the team have been confirmed to have tested positive for COVID-19 and for that matter the game was called off pending a match report by the officials and CAF’s decision by tomorrow.
The authorities said that the report was received this morning ahead of their this afternoon’s clash with Al Hilal Omdurman.
The Porcupine Warriors lost the first leg in Ghana by a lone goal at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday December 23.
The Porcupines must beat their opponents by a better score line to be able to make it to the group stages of the CAF Champions League.
The game will kick off at 1pm this afternoon and would be broadcast live on ccek.com.
Names of the players have been withheld by the Kotoko management ahead of their game which kicks off in less than an hour.
