CAF has communicated to Accra Hearts of Oak and has turned down the club’s request to admit fans to the stadium on Sunday afternoon when they take on CI Kamsar in Champions League preliminary match, Sportsworldghana.com can confirm.
The Rainbow Boys will have to do the job on Sunday and secure qualification to the next round of the 2021-22 CAF Champions League preliminary round without their vociferous supporters.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) cancelled the first leg clash which was scheduled to be honoured in Conakry due political unrest in the West African country after a coup d’état.
Hearts of Oak and CI Kamsar will be battling for a slot to the next round of the competition in a one-off game at the Accra Sports Stadium tomorrow off which the winner of the tie will come up against WAC of Morocco for a place in the group stage.
At the pre-match meeting on Saturday afternoon,CAF told the Ghana Champions there will be no fans allowed at the game due to Coronavirus restrictions despite the request of twenty-five (25) percent of the 40,000-seater capacity stadium.
The game will kick-off at 3:00 PM and will be telecast live on GTV Sports Plus
