Ghana Football Association President, Kwesi Nyantakyi has found his way through to the world football’s powerful cabinet after securing one of two FIFA Council slots available.
The GFA chief became second, behind second CAF Vice President Almany Kabele Camara who secured 37 votes
He narrowly beat Madagascar’s Ahmad by just one vote as the man from Southern Africa secured 30 votes.
Kwesi Nyantakyi with this victory becomes the first Ghanaian to serve on world football’s powerful cabinet, FIFA.
FIFA’s cabinet was significantly expanded as part of reforms introduced by new president Gianni Infantino.
The 36-member FIFA Council will hold its first meeting in Zurich on October 13-14.
