Four home-based players have been invited to the Black Stars by head coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification matches against Ethiopia and South Africa.

Akonnor named a 30-man provisional list on Friday morning during a press conference at the Ghana Football Association headquarters in Accra.
The four players are Hearts of Oak duo Richard Attah and Afriyie Barnie, Dreams FC defender Baffour Philimon and Kotoko’s Ismail Ganiyu.
Ghana are scheduled to host Group G opponents Ethiopia on Friday, September 3 in Cape Coast, before playing South Africa on Monday, September 6, 2021 in Johannesburg respectively.
