FIFA has ordered Belgian giants RSC Anderlecht to pay €425,000 to Thai club Buriram United following the transfer of Ghanaian winger Frank Acheampong to Chinese Super League side Tianjin Teda in 2017, SPORTSworldGhana.com can report.
When Acheampong moved from Briram United to Anderlecht, the two clubs agreed on a resale percentage of 15% but the club has failed to fulfil their part of the agreement.
The 2015 AFCON silver medalist initially joined Tianjin Teda on loan from Anderlecht with the Chinese club paying two million euros for the deal before sealing a 3.5 million euros permanent stay at the club.
Anderlecht paid Buriram a doover sale percentage on the 3.5 million euros (525,000 euros) to Briram United but the Thai club says their share of the loan deal wasn’t paid by Anderlecht, forcing them to file a complaint to FIFA.
Anderlecht will now need to make an additional payment of 375,500 euros to the Thai club, plus 49,500 euros in interest, making a total of €425,000.
The club risks being handed a three-season transfer ban should they fail to pay the said amount to the Briram United FC.
