On 17th March, 2021, Ghanaian Premier League club Kumasi Asante Kotoko announced the signing of Brazilian striker Michael Vinicius.
The striker joined joined the Porcupine Warriors on a two-year, where he scored his debut goal against Dreams FC in the club’s Ghana Premier League 3-1 win.
With barely three months at the club, head coach Mariano Barreto has confirmed that the Brazilian attacker’s contract has been terminated, adding an official announcement would be made soon.
Confirming the news to Pure FM’s Bright Yeboah Taylor after Kotoko’s MTN FA win over BYF Academy, coach Mariano Barreto said: “Michael is leaving us. The club will make a press release to explain why.”

The striker scored two goals in four games in four he played for Asante Kotoko.
Michael Vinicius formerly played for Fluminense (Brazil) , Linkoping City and Vasalunds IF (Sweden) before joining the Ghanaian powerhouse in March this year.
