Ghana star Kevin-Prince Boateng has confirmed he is joining Spanish champions Barcelona from Sassuolo.
Boateng, is expected to join the Spanish giants until the end of the season with the club having an option to sign him permanently for eight million euros..
He returns to La Liga having previously enjoyed the 2016/17 season with Las Palmas, where he scored 10 goals in 29 appearances.
“Barça, I’m coming! I’m sad to leave Sassuolo but is a great chance,” Kevin Prince Boateng told Sky Sports.
He was however quick to dismiss his 2017 claims that he preferred Real Madrid to Barcelona.
“Don’t ask me about Real Madrid… is just the past! I only want to focus on Barcelona and I hope to score at Bernabéu for the next Clásico.”
The former AC Milan star only joined Sassuolo in the summer and has scored four goals in 13 Serie A outings, recently playing in a more advanced role.
His previous spell in La Liga was a successful one, Boateng scoring 10 goals in 28 appearances for Las Palmas in 2016-17 before leaving for Eintracht Frankfurt.
Boateng’s Europe-hopping career has also seen him play for Hertha Berlin, Borussia Dortmund, Schalke, Tottenham, Portsmouth and Milan.
